Final of the French Dessert Championship

All regional finals of the 47th French Dessert Championship being finished, there are 16 finalists, “juniors” and “professionals” who meet on 5 and 6 October 2021, at Georges Baptiste High School in Canteleu (76), for the final jousts.

For this final, there will be almost equality between the candidates, namely: 9 pastry chefs and 7 pastry chefs.

All will give their interpretation of the theme chosen by Philippe MILLE, president of the jury: L'eco-responsibility at the heart of creations'.

National Bakery Finals

On July 12 and 13, the CFA IFP of Haute Loire (43) hosted the national final “Skills Olympics” for the profession of bakery. Taste and Health Awards 2020

For this 18th edition, a little special, the selections of 12 finalists– in the 4 categories of the competition – were held virtually with a postponement of the final which has just taken place in the premises of the Cuisine Mode d'Emploi – Thierry Marx School in Paris.

The candidates were overflowing with imagination to create products that won over the jury.

In category:

  • Recipes to keep: Julia CANU – artisan ice cream maker in Lyon (69) – wins the prize with his vitamin-packed recipe: “Detox Sorbet”.
  • Takeaway recipes: Laurent ODY – artisan charcutier caterer in Dignac (16) – is the new winner with his “Pâté en croûte between Charentes and the Pyrenees”
  • Sweet recipes: Peggy DEHOUT – artisan pastry chef-chocolatier-confectioner in Keskatel (67) – receives the trophy for his "Choca'beille", a small honey-chocolate-passion fruit and pollen cake.
  • Savory recipes: Christophe ARMANI – chef in Nîmes (30) – won over the jury with his “Sweet and sour marinated mackerel and zucchini”
